This 7-day Spiti Valley motorcycle expedition offers a high-octane blend of adventure and spirituality, starting with a winding descent from Manali to the lush greenery of Jibhi. The initial days focus on acclimating to the terrain as you conquer the steep Jalori Pass and move toward the cultural heart of the Kinnaur district. Highlights include visiting the intricate Bhima Kali Temple in Sarahan and riding to Chitkul, famously known as the last Indian village before the Indo-Tibetan border, before settling into the apple orchards of Kalpa.
As the journey progresses into the high-altitude desert of Spiti, the landscape shifts from cedar forests to rugged, lunar-like vistas. You’ll navigate the dramatic Khab Sangam and explore ancient spiritual sites like Tabo Monastery. The itinerary peaks in Kaza, where you’ll visit world-renowned landmarks such as the Kee Monastery and the Chicham Bridge. Reaching the "highest" points is a central theme here, with stops at the world's highest post office in Hikkim and the world's highest motorable village, Komic.
The final leg of the trip is a true test of grit, taking you over the formidable Kunzum La to the ethereal shores of Chandrataal Lake. After a night under the stars in high-altitude camps, the circuit closes with a scenic ride back to Manali via the engineering marvel of the Atal Tunnel. This itinerary efficiently packages the best of the Himalayas—remote villages, ancient Buddhist culture, and challenging mountain passes—into a week-long adrenaline-fueled loop.
